At The Blackwood Studios, every element of the cinema lounge has been carefully engineered to deliver an immersive experience comparable to world-class private home cinemas. From room proportions and acoustic engineering to reference-grade audio and cinema-class projection, the system has been designed to reproduce movies and music exactly as creators intended.

Every component has been selected and calibrated to work as a cohesive system — not merely assembled, but engineered to deliver an experience that transcends conventional home entertainment.

7.2.6 Channel Immersive Audio

The cinema lounge features a fully immersive 7.2.6 channel audio configuration, designed using the Auro-3D layout. This architecture also efficiently supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X playback. Seven ear-level channels establish the horizontal plane. Two subwoofers deliver visceral low-frequency impact. Six height channels create the overhead dome of sound.

This configuration reproduces sound in three-dimensional space, creating a realistic and enveloping sound field where every element — from a whisper to an explosion — occupies its correct position in the room.

The front soundstage is anchored by Focal's acclaimed Aria 936 floorstanders — a 3-way bass-reflex design featuring Flax sandwich cones. A natural flax fibre core sandwiched between two fiberglass skins produces a diaphragm that is lighter, more rigid, and better-damped than conventional materials, resulting in exceptional clarity and musical accuracy.

The inverted-dome Al/Mg TNF tweeter extends response to 28 kHz with silky precision, while the Powerflow dual-port system delivers controlled bass down to 39 Hz.

The surround channels use Focal’s Theva Surround — a purpose-built on-wall speaker featuring the Slatefiber cone, a proprietary composite made from recycled carbon fibre and thermoplastic polymer. This material achieves exceptional stiffness-to-mass ratio for balanced midrange and powerful, dynamic bass reproduction.

The sealed cabinet design ensures tight, controlled bass without port coloration — ideal for near-wall placement. At just 10.7 cm deep, the ultra-slim profile mounts unobtrusively while delivering wide dispersion and seamless integration with the front soundstage.

SVS Prime Elevation

6 Height Channels | Overhead Immersion

Six SVS Prime Elevation speakers are mounted strategically across the ceiling to create the overhead sound dome essential for Auro-3D, Dolby Atmos, and DTS:X. The angled front baffle design ensures optimal sound dispersion when ceiling-mounted, directing audio downward toward the listening positions with precision.

From raindrops falling overhead to aircraft circling above, the height channels create the critical third dimension of sound. The included multi-angle wall bracket supports multiple orientations, while premium crossover components ensure clean, detailed reproduction across the full frequency range.

The low-frequency foundation is provided by SVS’s formidable SB-4000. A massive 13.5-inch high-excursion driver with a dual-ferrite motor weighing over 17 kg is driven by the Sledge STA-1200D amplifier — delivering 1,200 watts RMS continuous and over 4,000 watts of dynamic peak power.

The 50 MHz Analog Devices DSP with 56-bit double-precision filtering provides 3-band parametric EQ, variable low-pass filter, and room gain compensation — all controllable via the SVS smartphone app with real-time feedback. The sealed cabinet design ensures tight, accurate transient response.

Native three-dimensional audio that envelops the listener in a hemisphere of sound. The Auro-3D layout forms the architectural basis of our 7.2.6 system, using dedicated height layers to create a natural, lifelike sound field.

Object-based immersive audio that positions individual sounds anywhere in the room, including overhead. Dolby Atmos assigns each element a precise location in 3D space and renders it in real time across all channels.

Codec-agnostic spatial audio that adapts to any speaker configuration. DTS:X uses object-based rendering similar to Dolby Atmos but adds flexible speaker remapping for consistent performance regardless of layout.

With Auro-Matic upmixing, even non-immersive stereo and 5.1 content can be intelligently expanded into a full three-dimensional sound field — ensuring that every piece of content benefits from the 7.2.6 system architecture.
